With local Planet Youth teams dedicated and passionate to improving the outcomes of their local children and young people. The ongoing community events and engagement alongside strategic planning promise to bring increased strength and commitment to prevention across Scotland.

After working alongside local community groups to engage with children, young people and parents, the Angus coalition is working hard on creating a reflective action plan. With collective responsibility across the broad coalition. The Angus vaping peer-education case study will be featured in the upcoming issue of Link Magazine, watch this space!

The team is gearing up for their "Growing up in Dunoon" event, with a lineup of 14 local stallholders, with more to join. This event will be a great opportunity for local families to hear more about Planet Youth, local organisations and even watch performances from local young people.

A surge in social media engagement has significantly boosted local interest and participation in Planet Youth activities. The focus on aligning with the UNCRC and engaging parents through community groups has been a key success story this summer.

Our Dundee team has been actively participating in community events, including transition days and family gatherings, fostering stronger ties with the local youth and their families. The buzz is ongoing among partners following a successful in-person event earlier in the year. The focus on embedding Planet Youth principles into existing community structures is proving a positive strategy for the city!

The local coalition groups in all five school areas have committed to their action plans, with clear focuses on vaping, mental health and resilience. Some of these actions are already resulting in positive new initiatives for local young people. After a successful online conference earlier in the year with an incredible turnout, the momentum continues.

Ongoing integration of the Planet Youth approach into local youth work and exciting new partnerships, highlights a strong commitment to addressing issues upstream and creating supportive environments for young people.
